Also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant or Split-Leaf Philodendron, Monsteras are an easy-to-grow, evergreen aroid with vining leaves and fenestrations (holes in the leaves) which add to its beauty. When given support, the vines will grow upward and the leaves get bigger. Originating as an understory plant in tropical rainforests, Monstera grows well in partial sun. Some varieties, such as White Variegated Monstera, have unusual white variegation on the leaves and these plants are rare and highly sought-after.
