They involve the use of the smaller muscle of the hands and fingers, such as dressing & doing up buttons, zips & laces; writing, drawing & cutting (as in art & craft activities); opening lunch boxes & drink bottles. Efficient fine motor skills require independent skills to occur simultaneously to manipulate the object or perform the task.
