Gramicci, was founded in 1982. Owner Mike Graham had been climbing in Yosemite through the '70s and it was in this period that Mike along with a few other climbers ascended the Half Dome climb in Yosemite, inanely giving themselves Italian names; Graham became Gramicci and it stuck. So, when Mike Graham put together the first specifically designed climbing pant it made sense for the brand to go by his moniker, Gramicci.
