The first Perkins 4.236 engine came off the production line in August 1964. More than 70,000 were made in its first three years, with production growing to over 60,000 a year in the UK alone between 1969 and 1984. The 4.236 powered tractors and other agricultural and industrial machines for Massey Ferguson, Clark, Manitou, JCB, Landini and Vermeer to name a few.
