Perry (AKA, poiré) is like cider, but made from pears. Traditional perry is made from pear varieties grown specifically for perry production ("perry pears"). Modern perries are are made from culinary/table pears. Here you'll also find "ciders" made from or with other pome fruit, such as quince, medlar, or Sorbus.
