Barber dimes, named for their designer Charles E. Barber, are struck in 90% silver. Their obverse depicts Liberty facing right wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath, along with “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. The design is nearly identical to Barber’s quarter and half dollar designs but has no stars on the obverse. The reverse shows a wreath surrounding the denomination “ONE DIME”.
