Designed by Adolph A. Weinman, the Liberty Walking Half Dollar is admired for its timeless beauty. Weinman also created the iconic Mercury Dime. The coin contains 90% silver and features a powerful, symbolic design. The obverse shows Liberty moving toward a rising sun. This artwork later inspired the American Silver Eagle design of 1986 and later. The reverse shows an eagle standing on a rocky ledge. A pine branch appears beside the eagle to represent strength.
