Rebecca Udall crockery champions heritage European ceramics - focusing on heritage-inspired designs for timeless collections that bring art to the table. Made in Europe, whether Portugal or Italy, our family-owned manufacturers are based in areas of heritage ceramic know-how: generations of ceramics knowledge passed down from one generation to the next. Hand-painted designs add depth, texture and unique design to the table. One of our Italian manufacturer is one of the oldest ceramic manufacturers in Europe. Based in a village in Northern Italy, they choose to prioritise artisanal techniques over modern technology for a truly artisanal product: all pieces are handmade using age-old moulds and, where applicable, individually hand-painted. Timeless designs, have been produced time and time again. Our Portuguese partner is an entirely female team. Sat around a table of no bigger than four metres long, a dozen ladies individually hand paint ceramics. Based in an area of Portugal with strong ceramics heritage, it's an art which is difficult to recruit for in the modern day. Some of our designs require specific ladies to paint them. All of our crockery collections are dishwasher safe, except for Madeleine with real gold detailing.
