Polyester holds up where nylon doesn't. It barely absorbs water, so it won't sag or stretch when wet, and it resists UV far better over a season in the sun. It gives up some abrasion resistance in exchange, but for tarps, liners, pack bodies, and anything that lives outside, it's often the smarter choice. It's also where most of our recycled fabric sits.
