Zinnias arrived from Mexico in the late 1700s, at that time a drab little flower of dusty lilac. Today they are available in every tempting color except blue, and in a fantastic array of shapes and sizes. Everyone’s favorite cut flower, they are easy to grow in fertile soil, spaced well apart to discourage mildew. Tender annuals, sow direct after any chance of frost.
