Companion planting is growing different plants next to each other for the benefit or one or both. Different plants are thought to have different properties – some attract beneficial insects so aiding pollination of the other plant; some lure pests away from the more valued plant; some are thought to deter pests with their scent & some are thought to improve the health of nearby plants. Companion planting is generally regarded as a more natural method of pest & disease control.
