In contrast to the sarees that one usually wears, the Nine Yards or Madisar is distinguished mainly by its length and draping style. The use of traditional colour palettes and symbolic patterns, along with minimal zari work gives it a much revered auspicious aura. An integral part of many rituals and events in South India, it is available in both silk and cotton variations.
