Originating from Patan of Gujarat, the patola uses a double ikat weaving method. The tie and dye technique renders a creation of various patterns inspired by flowers, birds, and elephants. It is then brought to life with complementing colours. Existing from the 12th Century, this weaving technique allows a Patola saree to radiate with a royal sheen.
