Founded in 1653, Royal Delft is the last remaining Delftware factory of the 17th Century. In recognition of its exceptional craftsmanship and historic role as a purveyor of fine Delft pottery to the Dutch royal household, the factory was granted the title “Royal” by Queen Wilhelmina in 1919 — an honour reserved for institutions of national and cultural significance.
