Léttlopi is the yarn the classic lopapeysa is knitted from — a two-ply, aran-weight lopi spun by Ístex from 100% Icelandic wool. Lighter than Álafoss Lopi, quick on 4.5–5 mm needles, and available in the widest colour range of any lopi: the natural sheep shades plus rich heathers and brights. Like all true lopi it keeps both fibres of the Icelandic fleece — the soft insulating undercoat and the weather-resistant outer hair — so your finished sweater is warm, light and surprisingly rain-tolerant. It softens noticeably with washing and wear. Planning a sweater?
