Bamboo Textiles Australia, based in the hinterlands of Queensland's Sunshine Coast is owned by business partners Bernie Kath and John Henriksen. It is only in relatively recent times that the technology was developed to separate and utilise bamboo fibre for textiles and in 2005, Bernie and John began designing and testing clothing made from this unique fabric. Bamboo fibre has amazing qualities of having excellent strength, shape stability, washability, colour and shrink fastness and being exceptionally comfortable against the skin.
